What
we're making

What We Need:
PSP (any version)
Animation Shop
Texture HERE
HippyDisplay Font HERE
PeaceSign Preset Shape HERE
Tube of Choice
Let's Begin
Place your preset shape
in your shape folder
Open PSP
Open the jpeg of my
texture. Promote to
layer. Duplicate this
layer. Arrange to top.
Rotate image 120 degrees
to the right. Back to
original layer. Duplicate
again. Arrange to top.
Rotate image 240 degrees.
Activate your bottom
layer again. Go to
Selections, Select All,
modify, contract by 100.
Invert. With your bottom
layer activated, hit
delete on your keyboard.
Move up one layer with
ants still marching, hit
delete again. Again,
leaving the ants, move up
one later, hit delete
again. Selections, Select
None. You should now have
a more manageable size
for your patterns.

Using your preset shape
included, background and
fill both set to a nice
rainbow gradient. Colours
are up to you.

Tug and pull until you
like the position of the
shape over your pattern.
Make sure your shape
falls within the square
of your pattern. Convert
to raster layer. I
applied a SuperBladePro
coconutice to give it a
gentle bevel. Again, up
to you.
Once you're happy with
your preset shape
placement and bevel, use
your magic wand to click
OUTSIDE your shape. Go to
Selections, modify,
expand by 1
Leave your ants marching,
activate your bottom
pattern layer. Hit delete
once
Ants still marching,
activate your middle
pattern layer, hit delete
once
Ants still marching,
activate your top pattern
layer, hit delete once.
You should now see only
your preset shape, with
the pattern on the
inside. Selections,
Select None. I added a
slight drop shadow to my
preset shape to give a
sense of depth. I leave
that up to your creative
discretion.
Add your tube at this
point. Add your text. I
used Hibiscus on mine,
which is a pay font. The
link above will take you
to a free download of
HippyDisplay, which is a
font that works well for
the "peaceout"
theme of the tag. I used
the same gradient on my
font as for my shape, and
added the same SBP
effect.
Using EyeCandy4000, apply
a gradient glow with the
following settings:
One of the factory
settings for this effect
is called "soft
rainbow"... I used
that and just adjusted my
glow width. The colours
are already pretty
wonderful

Apply this glow to both
your text and your tube.
Now is the time to add in
your copyright
information and your
watermark. I used the
fabulous work of Joel
Adams. You must have a
GILD license to use this
image. Go to
www.internationalillustrator.com
for further information.
Now, I want you to add a
new raster layer, send to
the bottom, and flood
fill with white. Using
your crop tool, crop your
image down as far as you
can.
Hide your middle and
bottom layers of your
pattern. You should have
showing the following
layers: Text, Tube,
copyright, watermark,
Preset Shape, and top
layer of pattern.
Go to Edit... Copy Merged
Open AniShop... Edit...
Paste as new animation
Back to PSP. Hide top
layer of pattern, unhide
middle layer. Edit...
Copy Merged
To AS... Edit... Paste
after current frame
Back to PSP. Hide middle
layer of pattern, unhide
bottom layer of pattern.
Edit..Copy Merged
To AS... Edit... paste
after current frame
Staying in AS, go to
Edit, Select all
Go to Animation... Frame
Properties... change this
number to 20
Now is the time to resize
your animation if you'd
like. Save as a .gif, and
you're done!
Thank you for trying this
tut. Hope you enjoyed it!
